St Mary’s C of E Primary School

We are a 'good' school - Ofsted Jan 2015 and 'outstanding' - SIAMS Feb 2016

What a wonderful star to the school year! Mrs Tearle has been delighted with how quickly the new Panthers have settled into Year 1 and are learning all the new routines and class rules. They loved sharing their holiday diaries and discovering something new about each other.

This Month’s Value is Respect

Panthers have been reflecting on the school values of Respect and Thankfulness this term. The children have discussed what respect is and how we can show it in our behaviour. They have also thought deeply about what we should be thankful for.

Our Topic: Marvellous Me

We have been enjoying finding out about the different parts of our bodies through our topic “Marvellous Me”.  We had great fun learning to understand our world through investigating and exploring using our 5 special senses.

Our learning: Literacy

In literacy we have learnt what an adjective is and have used them to produce some really good descriptive pieces of writing. We have also learnt traditional rhymes and written our own rhyming poems. It was amazing to listen to each other perform rhymes and poems.

Special events: Languages Day

It has been a joy to see the children being enthusiastic about their learning during Languages Day and having a go at learning new words.

Keep it up Panthers!
