On Monday 10 October, Year 4 visited Butser Ancient Farm on a school trip. After a rocky start with our bus breaking down before we even left, we eventually reached our destination. Once we had our health and safety talk, we sat inside a Celtic roundhouse around a smoking fire. The children were able to share all of their knowledge about the Romans to the Butser Farm staff - they were very impressed! Throughout the day, the children took part in four workshops: Roman Numerals, Roman Villa tour, Chalk Carving and Clunching. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and this trip really brought our Roman topic to life. A huge thank you to all the adults who helped out during the day. We, and the children, really appreciate it!
