During Art Week we looked at Caribbean Garden by Ruth Daniels. We used this picture to create some descriptive writing using our senses. The children created their own plans using everything they have learnt about the Rainforest so far. We look forward to sharing stories with you during the exhibition evening.
In maths, the children created symmetrical rainforest animals and ladybirds. They used their understanding of doubling and multiplying by four to ensure the ladybirds had the correct number of spots.
We also had a go at tie dyeing material. The children chose different colours to dye their material before letting them dry overnight. Finally, we had a go at sewing, this was a challenge but the children enjoyed trying something new and showed they were fantastic St Mary’s Learners by persevering!
