St Mary’s C of E Primary School

We are a 'good' school - Ofsted Jan 2015 and 'outstanding' - SIAMS Feb 2016

November was another busy, yet exciting, month! We have been focusing a lot on our learning attitudes, to ensure we have a positive attitude towards our learning. Also, we have been thinking about the values we have at St Mary’s and how we can be good citizens. In Literacy, we have started learning the story of ‘The Tempest’ by William Shakespeare. We did some hot seating, answering questions from the viewpoint of the main characters in the story. In Science we have continued learning about the body, focusing mainly on different food groups and the nutrients we transport around our bodies.

St Mary’s Learner Week

When we returned from half term, we had a focus on the different learning attitudes that we work towards here at St Mary’s. We took part in a range of activities including designing and making our own board games in groups, using philosophical thinking to ask questions, orienteering, circle time and we even had a visit from the Happy Puzzle Company!
