Parents who wish their child to attend the Nursery are asked to fill in a form when their child is two years old, whereupon their child's name will go on the waiting list. All children are entitled to 15 hours free per week. We also offer 5 spaces (on a first come first serve basis) to children who are entitled to 30 hours free nursery care per week. If you think your child is eligible, please contact the school office. The Nursery day is structured as follows:
|Day||Morning (3 hours)||Lunch||Afternoon (3 hours)|
*An administration charge of £2.00 per day applies to children remaining on site during lunch
Nursery sessions are offered as follows:
- All day Monday & Tuesday plus Wednesday morning, or
- Wednesday afternoon plus all day Thursday & Friday
An optional school lunch is available for those children who attend any full days and must be paid for in advance at the chargeable rate. Lunches cost £1.90 per day. All other children who attend Nursery for a full day are required to bring a packed lunch.
Top up sessions are also available subject to availability and are charged at a rate of £14.00 per session.
Selection to the Nursery will be based on criteria in St Mary's Nursery Admission Policy (a copy of this policy can be found in 'Policies'). There is one intake in September for children who are three years old by 31st August of that year. Offers of the nursery places will be sent out at the end of the Spring Term. Further intakes may be offered in January if there are spaces available.
Each child offered a place will receive a home visit from the Nursery Teacher and classroom assistant during the first two weeks of September (notification of day & time will be sent during June / July). You and your child will then be invited for one or more visits to the nursery. Children are usually expected to be full-time straight away.
Nursery children wear a school polo shirt, school sweatshirt or cardigan and blue track suit bottoms.
